Our Brand Update: Northrnr is Now Northrune

As of November 3, 2025, we’re officially updating our brand name from Northrnr to Northrune.

Over the past two years since 2023, we’ve proudly operated under the name Northrnr. However, the process of securing a trademark proved more challenging than expected. After one year, we received a Non-Final Office Action from the USPTO stating that “Northrnr” was too close to the boot company “Northerner,” even though our products and theirs are completely different.

We fought this three times, exploring every possible way to move forward. But for the long-term health and growth of our brand, we’ve decided to make a change.

From here on, we’ll be known as Northrune.
Nothing else about the company has changed — same owner, same products, same values — just a slightly different name. This update ensures we can fully own our trademark without worrying about future legal issues or conflicts.

Why Northrune?

The name Northrune combines “North,” representing the core of our brand — from the inspiration behind our colors to the handmade craftsmanship of our products — with “Rune,” a symbol of meaning, craftsmanship, and intention. It perfectly reflects our process of sewing every piece 100% by hand right here in Minnesota.

The Transition

We’re currently in the process of updating everything from our website and product tags to our packaging and social media pages. The full transition from Northrnr to Northrune should be completed by November 15, 2025. 

We’re excited about this next chapter — one that continues to honor our roots while giving us room to grow with full creative and legal freedom.
